Born and bred in Palmerston North, Gatch Works founder - Michael Gattsche, has curated a strong network of highly skilled builders, subcontractors, suppliers and trade partners which means all of our clients benefit from quality workmanship, reliable timelines, and a stress-free building experience.

Michael

Mike’s the face of Gatch Works and the guy everyone remembers. Not just for his building skills, but for his easygoing, chatty nature. He keeps the team running smoothly while making every client feel like a mate. With a passion for quality and a knack for making people feel at ease, Mike brings energy, experience, and a whole lot of personality to every project.

Sophie

The real boss behind the scenes, Sophie keeps Gatch Works looking sharp and running smoothly! With a natural flair for design and a love for architecture and interiors, she brings creativity and order to the Gatch Works experience.

Her knack for organisation (and love of a good spreadsheet) means Gatch Works runs on great systems — keeping projects smooth, clients informed, and everything on track.

Max

Max is one of those rare legends who just gets the job done — no fuss, no shortcuts, no complaints. With years of experience and a sharp eye for detail, he’s the kind of builder every crew hopes to have. Reliable, dedicated, and consistently top-notch, we’re proud to have Max as a core part of the Gatch Works team.

When he’s not on the tools, you’ll find him on the rugby field repping Marist with pride — and bringing that same commitment and grit to the game

Jack

Jack brings serious skill and reliability to the team. Recently back from Melbourne’s fast-paced building scene, he adds a sharp technical edge and a deep understanding of how to build things right. Calm, capable, and committed — Jack is exactly the kind of guy you want on your building site. He’s a huge asset to the Gatch Works crew, and we’re stoked to have him on board.

When he’s not on the tools, Jack’s pushing his limits as an endurance athlete — competing in Ironmans and ultra-distance events. No surprise from someone who gives his all in everything he does.

Brodie

Brodie is the newest member of the Gatch Works crew. With experience in house moving and a natural eye for detail, he keeps job sites tidy, vans spotless, and standards high. Always willing to go the extra mile, Brodie’s the kind of team player who stays late, steps up, and gets stuck in.

When he’s off the clock, you’ll find him out on his motorbike, chasing adventure with the same energy he brings to the job.

Cully

Cully started with us as a Gateway student and has grown into a key part of the Gatch Works crew. Now nearly qualified, he’s hardworking, dependable, and always keen to learn. Whether he’s on the tools or backing up the team, Cully brings a solid work ethic every day.

Off the tools, you’ll find him outdoors — hunting, helping on the farm, or soaking up time in the bush.

They Arrived on time put up the fence in a couple of days and did a wonderful job. Put netting up between the 2 properties so dogs didn't get out. Cleaned up when finished. Would highly recommend 👌"
